#AdriftCareers: Youth Cohort 2021

Each year Adrift Hospitality hosts a Youth Cohort, consisting of 40-50 young adults who work across our properties. They learn skills like effective communication, time management, and working efficiently as a team while getting the same perks and benefits that Adrift is known for! Check out two of our amazing Youth Cohort members below.

#AdriftCareers: Adam Sonntag

Housekeeping, Inn at Discovery Coast

Meet Adam! He’s a housekeeper at The Inn at Discovery Coast, and have been working with us since the summer of 2018.

Adam has been working at Adrift for the past three summers when he’s not studying law at the University of Washington. He started as Support Staff for Adrift Hotel, but his hard work, fast pace, and consideration for his coworkers’ needs was noticed by his superiors so he switched to working at The Inn at Discovery Coast during his second summer.

He currently works as a Housekeeper at both locations, and holds high standards for himself, stating

“time management & attention to detail are key given the expectations we uphold”.

~ Adam Sonntag

He added that his success is due to the Adrift community, where both management and coworkers are aware of each others’ needs and hard work gets noticed.

In his free time, Adam enjoys longboarding, watching Netflix, hanging with friends, and playing chess.

#AdriftCareers: Juli Fleming

From Housekeeping to Pickled Fish Support

Juli is one of our youngest employees at Adrift, and that doesn’t stop her from working hard & expanding her skills! She started out working as a Housekeeper at Inn At Discovery Coast, then her manager noticed her speed and efficiency and asked if she wanted to work at Pickled Fish as well as Support Staff.

She took on the new role with aplomb, and is currently performing both roles. Juli attributes her growth and success to her coworkers and managers, stating that

“Working [at Adrift] has given me opportunities to strengthen my skills, as it’s a lot like basketball – we’re all working together & supporting each other with a common goal”

She also enjoys the giving-back nature of Adrift, specifically with local non-profits & Cocktail For A Cause.

In her free time, Juli likes finding new foods, hanging with her friends and family, and being the Engagement Chair for her school.
