B Corp Certified Hotels and Inns - Adrift Hospitality

We’re a B Corp!™

Adrift Hospitality SPC. began as a single, coastal boutique hotel in 2004 on Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula. Now, we’ve grown to include our flagship property Adrift Hotel, Ashore Hotel in Seaside, Bowline Hotel in Astoria, Pickled Fish Restaurant, Adrift Distillers, Inn at Discovery Coast, Boardwalk Cottages,  & the longest continuously running hotel in Washington, the Shelburne Hotel.

From our inception, it was our mission to create jobs that pay a living wage, give great benefits and focus on growing employees skills and confidence. We’re proud to be a part of the Pacific Northwest community, and we celebrate and support the makers, artisans, farmers, growers and foragers who share our home by showcasing their wares in our hotels, restaurants and distillery.

In 2018, we became a Social Purpose Corporation, a type of for-profit corporation which legally enables us to place social and environmental considerations at the same level as fiscal decisions. In 2018, the Shelburne Pub and Pickled Fish Restaurant were awarded an Ocean-Friendly Restaurant certification by Surfrider.

Why we became B corp™!

From our very first hotel, we have been committed to community values, social justice and environmental stewardship. We believe that through fair employment, sustainable practices and close collaboration with local partners who share our values, that business and hospitality can be a force for good in the world.  We decided to go through the process of becoming a benefit corporation for three reasons:

Accountability

We wanted to be accountable for the work we’re doing. We can trust that our efforts make a real difference, as they’ve been measured by an impartial, external certification body.

Community

We wanted to join a community of over 2000 businesses, in 65 countries across the world, who share the same values as we do. Sharing our successes and learning from others is incredibly valuable to us.

Transparency

As we continue to grow and expand our business, we want to do so with radical transparency. Certification as a B-corp gives us transparency and an objective measure of our efforts.
