Prepare For the Elements:

Warm layers (especially good socks)

it can be anywhere from 30 to 95 degrees (F) out on the coast! having layers that are easy to put on or remove are great for the ever-changing weather.

Raincoat & rain boots

it rains in the Pacific Northwest up to 152 days out of the year – be prepared for wet trails, blustery beaches, and muddy paths!

Sunglasses & sunscreen

we get sun here, we promise! don’t be caught red-handed (or red-backed) on those sunny summer days, slather on the SPF.

if you haven’t flown a kite on the beach, are you really on vacation? Long Beach hosts the International Kite Festival every August, and sells all kinds of kites in local shops and at the World Kite Museum. grab one, head out to the sandy dunes, and “let’s go fly a kite” !🪁
