GET OUTSIDE

Manzanita is perfectly situated for coastal exploration. Spend time on the seven-mile stretch of Manzanita Beach for walking, beachcombing, or simply enjoying the sunset.

For hiking, the town is bookended by stunning parks: Neahkahnie Mountain (part of Nehalem Bay State Park) offers challenging trails with panoramic views of the coastline, while Oswald West State Park to the north features the popular Cape Falcon Trail and a short forest walk down to Short Sand Beach, a favorite spot for local surfers.

You can also head to Nehalem Bay State Park for a mix of activities including biking, horseback riding, or kayaking in the calm waters of Nehalem Bay. Be sure to check the tide charts for tide-pooling at spots like Hug Point State Recreation Site.

LOCAL FOOD & PROVISIONS

For groceries, The Little Apple offers a great deli and stays open later (until about 9 PM), while Wild Grocery & Cafe is best for organic items and quick sandwiches. Grab coffee next door at Manzanita Coffee Co or at the Offshore Grill and Coffee House, which also serves pub food. Highly-recommended casual dining includes Big Wave Cafe.

For a special meal, the famous Yolk is weekend-only and requires reservations. Wine lovers must visit Dixie’s Vino for knowledgeable service. Finally, San Dune Pub across the street is a local dive that also boasts great food.

A small group of people stand outside Manzanita Grocery & Deli, a wooden building with a sign reading "the little apple." Some are pushing shopping carts near outdoor produce bins. The sky is clear and blue.
Several people stand and talk outside the entrance of a restaurant with large windows. The window features a yellow sign that reads "Yolk breakfast lunch." The surroundings include greenery and a wooden building exterior.
