#AdriftCareers Case Study: Johanna Gustafson

Johanna began her Adrift journey in July 2018, where she was brought on as the Events Coordinator. This role was set to be part-time, as she was also the secretary at Ilwaco Middle School. Johanna managed and executed weddings, corporate retreats, reunions, and assisted in other departments as needed. Her worth and value was quickly realized as the company brought more properties into their portfolio, and Johanna became the permanent Events Coordinator in June 2019.

Adrift Hospitality has grown along with Johanna’s profession, from six to nine properties in the past four years. She finds joy in seeing the passion and conviction of the company, primarily with the corporation’s environmental impact and focus on supporting their coastal communities. Furthermore, Johanna loves the creative reach she has in her role and with her events.

When asked what she wants to share with new employees, Johanna states that:

“…Adrift [Hospitality] is not a job, it is a family. It isn’t always easy but at the end of the day you love your family, and you are thankful you have them. I love my Adrift family, I am so grateful I have them.”.
